About
Kunal is a serial-entrepreneur with a keen eye to solve real world problems with the help of technology. Before starting Kiki, Kunal has experience of starting his own software development agency in India and growing it to 30+ team members.
He has always operated at the forefront of technological evolution, he started by creating ecommerce websites, then mobile apps and now AI driven solutions. He decided to start Kiki with the conviction that AI powered tutors is the future of education and every child will benefit from this consequential technology.
Background
Kunal started his career as a software engineer in 2007 by joining a software multi-national in Mumbai. There he learned the ropes of software development practices and grew in confidence of his ability to deliver valuable solutions for his clients. In 2010, Kunal took up a brief stint as a lecturer at Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic, where he was able to share his knowledge and experiences with budding engineers.
In 2012, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, co-founding Gyrix where he served as the CEO until 2019. This venture allowed him to put his MBA knowledge into practice, gained from the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, where he studied from 2011 to 2013.
His extensive experience in product development stems from his profound passion for utilizing technology as a tool to enhance everyday living for those in his community. His forays into various experiments have enriched his skill set, enabling him to accurately pinpoint user difficulties and devise effective solutions.
Interests
When not exploring new technologies, Kunal is interested in Reading, Mentoring, Astronomy and Meditation. On a clear night, he likes to takes his telescope in the field to observe the solar system and its planets (Saturn is his favorite). He took up meditation in 2019 and has learnt a lot.
He is a big fan of Harry Potter but mostly indulges in self-help and business books.
Every year, Kunal selects 6 engineering students to mentor (pro-bono) from his alma-mater and help them build strong foundation for their careers.
